I COUGH – by Steven McCracken

I cough when it’s hot, I cough when it’s cold
I cough when its windy, don’t put me near mould

I cough in the morning, I cough in the night
I cough more when I cough, no that can’t be right

I cough when I lie down, I cough when I get up
I cough when I eat, or drink from a cup

I cough when I swim, I cough when I walk
I cough when I sing, I cough when I talk

I cough when I dance, I cough when moving too fast
I cough when I cycle, more than in the past

I cough with strong smells, I cough when eating too quick
I cough hundreds of times, more if I’m sick

I cough in the car, I cough all alone
I cough at my desk, I cough on the phone

I cough when I shower, or go to the loo
I cough when I wee, I cough when I poo

I cough very loud, it makes my head shake
I continuously cough, it gives me a headache

I cough with my family, I cough with my amigos
I usually cough more, without 02 up my nose

I cough up the stairs, I cough climbing hills
Nothing stops my cough, not even my pills

I cough when I wake, usually in a haze
I cough when I cry, more nowadays

Life is hard, with the cough as my friend
I will continue to cough, until the very end

If only I could stop, using something like hypnosis
You suck IPF, stupid pulmonary fibrosis
