Many people have asked me what prevents me from writing. Too busy working? Too tired? Writer’s block?
Ok, I confess. No one has actually asked me that. Being retired, I am definitely not too busy working. When I want to work (around the house), I work, and when I want to write, I write. Too tired? Same thing. If want to nap, I nap. I have never had writer’s block, but then, I write when I want to write. I guess if I forced myself to write a certain amount in a certain time, I might have a problem.
So what does keep me from writing? Little miracles like this. The WrenCam that I mounted on the porch above the Boston fern has me captivated watching the birth of new wrens, and it’s a spectacular show! Don’t believe in miracles? From a tiny egg comes a living bird. That’s a miracle.

Writing? That can wait.
Keep smiling!

Helps to have a routine though if you want to make an output goal. Doesn’t have to be at a specific time of day, but more that you try to engage in something. Maybe assign character traits to the wren chicks that are like someone in your story? 🙂
